Able Scale & Equipment Corporation is a family owned and operated weighing business founded in 1950 in Rocky Hill, CT by Walter Izikewicz, Sr. Before starting his own company, Walter Sr. was involved in jet engine moment weighing. His son Walter Jr. joined the company in 1961, and in 1969 Walter Jr. and Randall Izikewicz developed the AMI moment tester, name for Walter Jr.’s mother, Anna Mary Izikewicz. In 1970, Able Scale moved to its current location in Manchester, CT.
